Plan review

Plan review is the health department's check of a food truck design before it's built or permitted. You submit drawings, the menu and equipment details, and the reviewer approves them or asks for changes.

Packets vary, but the NACCHO factsheet and county guides commonly ask for plans drawn to scale, a top view of the equipment layout, a side view of the plumbing, the menu, tank sizes, equipment makes and models, and finish materials. Los Angeles County asks for drawings at 1 inch to 1 foot. Maricopa County, Arizona requires plan review for custom-built units.

A clear plan speeds things up. Draw it in the food truck layout maker, export a printable sheet, and follow how to design a food truck layout.
