Step van

A step van is a walk-in delivery truck with a tall box body you can enter straight from the driver's seat. It's the usual base for a custom food truck, and builders such as Concession Nation size trucks by its box length. The size, like 14, 16 or 18 ft, refers to the length of the box, not the whole truck.

On the Morgan Olson Route Star body, a common step van, the inside is 86 or 93 inches wide and 81 or 85 inches tall, and a 16 ft body has 191 inches of floor behind the bulkhead. The rear wheel boxes leave a 41-inch aisle between them, and the cab doors slide into the first 32 inches of each side wall.
