What size fire extinguisher does a food truck need?
Often two: a Class K extinguisher for cooking oil and grease, and an ABC extinguisher rated at least 2A:10BC for everything else. That's the rule in Iowa for commercial cooking and in Rockdale County, Georgia for deep frying. Los Angeles County's plan check asks for at least a 10 BC extinguisher.
Extinguishers are selected and installed under NFPA 10, and Iowa and Rockdale County both want a current inspection tag. Rockdale wants the tag from a licensed company and less than 12 months old. Mount them near an exit and clear of the aisle, so nobody reaches across the fryer to grab one.
The food truck layout maker has a fire extinguisher you can place on the plan, and fire suppression system covers the hood side.
